Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (EU 2025/40)
Every package sold in the EU needs material and sorting labels. Fill in the details, we deliver the QR code.
The regulation applies since 12 August 2026, and from 12 August 2028 packaging must tell consumers what it is made of and how to sort it. You know your packaging; we know the rules. The overlap is a five-minute form.
What the regulation requires
Material composition
What every part of the packaging is made of, using the EU's harmonised material codes.
Sorting instructions
Which bin or collection stream each component belongs in, in language a consumer understands.
On every package
Applies to essentially all packaging sold in the EU, from coffee bags to cosmetics jars to shipping boxes.
QR codes allowed
Small packaging may carry the information digitally. One printed QR code can do the job of a label there is no room for.
Which duty lands when
Declaration of Conformity per packaging type, your name and postal address on the packaging, PFAS limits in food-contact packaging, heavy-metal limits, and EPR registration in each member state where you sell.
Material composition, sorting instructions and reuse information on every package. Small packaging may carry this via a QR code instead of printed pictograms.
All packaging must reach recyclability grade A, B or C, plastic packaging must meet minimum recycled content, and empty-space limits apply to e-commerce packaging.
The Commission's implementing act fixes the exact harmonised codes and label formats. Our material mapping tracks it, so the labels behind your QR code stay correct without you reprinting anything.
Fill in the details, we do the rest
List your components
Bag, lid, valve, label. Type a name, pick the material from our curated list. That is the whole input.
We derive the official data
Material codes and correct sorting streams are filled in automatically. When the EU finalises the harmonised codes, your labels update without you touching anything.
You get the QR code
A print-ready vector QR (SVG and PDF print sheet) for your label supplier, linking to a hosted page with the full sorting information. Unlimited prints, unlimited scans.
What your customer sees after scanning
Codes and sorting streams are derived by us from your material choice. You never look up a code.
Selling coffee or food? The same QR can carry your origin story.
The packaging label is the legal requirement. The farm, the process, the price you paid, that is what customers scan for. One code does both.
